LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Wearing special Lone Star jerseys, the Red Raiders trailed most of the game but late in the third, Seth Doege threw a 10 yard TD pass to Eric Stephens to cut the Longhorns lead to 2 at 24-22. Tech went for 2 for the tie but Doege's pass was no good.

Texas then scored to make it 31-22. The Red Raiders tried a field goal to make it a one score game with 5 minutes left, but it was blocked.

Tech had 441 yards of total offense to UT's 427

Former Red Raider Michael Crabtree led the team during the Raider Walk and he received a huge ovation in the stadium when his 2008 heroics against UT were shown. However, Tech was unable to repeat that feat in 2012.

Tech falls to 6-3 overall and they are back home next week to play Kansas at 11 a.m.
