LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
A Lubbock woman was indicted Tuesday by a Lubbock County Grand Jury for the theft of "more than $200,000" from West Tex Federal Credit Union. Armelinda Castillo, 27, who also goes by Irma, was a former assistant accountant with West Tex location on 79th and Indiana.
According to police, Castillo stole the money over a 3-year period before her actions were discovered. The report lists that she stole a total of $500,000.
Vicki Lynn Love, president of West Tex Federal Credit Union, says they alerted authorities as soon as they were aware it was happening.
