Lubbock Democrats React To Kerry's Choice

The Democratic ticket for the White House is complete.

"The next Vice-President of the United States will be Senator John Edwards of North Carolina," said Presidential Candidate, John Kerry as he announced his running mate Tuesday morning.

The 51-year-old Senator ran for the Democratic Nomination for President against Kerry in the primaries. Lubbock Democrats we spoke with are excited about Kerry's choice.

"I think the ticket is a good one. It's going to hit middle America, it's going to hit the ordinary person." said Irma Guerrero, Lubbock County Democratic Chair.

The New York Post was among many who had thought Kerry would choose someone else. The Post sold papers Tuesday morning, claiming Missouri Congressman Dick Gephardt was the Vice Presidential Candidate. Many said the error was reminiscent of the infamous 1948 Chicago Tribune headline "Dewey Defeats Truman."
