LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Around 7 p.m. Friday night, Lubbock police were called out to the Cricket Court Apartments near Avenue J and 58th Street, responding to a report of shots fired.

22-year-old Fabian Castillo suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died on Saturday morning.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene shortly after Castillo was transported by ambulance.

While setting up a perimeter around the Cricket Court Apartments, police were also setting up a perimeter around Garden Apartments just down the road. Police believed a possible suspect was in one of the apartments.

One man in the area has been taken into custody on an unrelated charge, but has not been charged in connection with this incident.

Police are still looking for another suspect.

Castillo's family is raising money to help pay for his funeral, which is November 15th, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. If you would like to make a donation, please call his wife, Gabby Esquivel, and (806) 300-6604.
