Lady Raiders win season opener

TEMPE, AZ (KCBD) -

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders (1-0) brought the "D" to the desert with them and left Tempe, Arizona with a 61-49 victory over Arizona State (0-1) in their season opener.

The Lady Raiders led 28-25 at the half, but went on a 15-0 run in the second half to take command and lock down the Sun Devils offense.

Casey Morris led the way for the Lady Raiders with 15 points. Jackie Patterson finished with 12 points. Chynna Brown and Christine Hyde finished the game with 10 points.

The Lady Red Raiders will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico to take on New Mexico on Thursday before returning home for their home opener against Lipscomb on Sunday.
