HealthWise at Five: National Caregivers Month

Covenant Health will recognize National Caregivers Month with some pampering of local caregivers on Wednesday, November 14. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Caregivers are invited to stop by the lobby of the Joe Arrington Cancer Center (JACC) for some pampering.  Family members and caregivers provide 75-80% of care that a cancer patient requires.  This means that caregivers have many unmet needs and face many challenges.

Representatives from the JACC, American Cancer Society, and Home Instead Senior Care, will be handing out resources, goodie bags, snacks and door prizes to caregivers that stop by the event. They will also be giving chair messages provided by Oceans Spa to pamper the caregivers and family members.

National Caregivers Month is in November and is designed as a time to thank, support, empower and educate caregivers. The Joe Arrington Cancer Center is located at 4101 22nd Place. For more information about this event call 806-725-8002.
