Lady Raider guard out after injury in season opener

LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech women's basketball announced on Tuesday that freshman guard Minta Spears will miss the rest of the season.

Spears suffered a torn ACL in her right knee in the second half of Sunday's 61-49 win at Arizona State. She played nine minutes and had two points, one assist and one steal.

Tech (1-0) will play its second game on the road at 8 p.m. CT, Thursday as it travels to Albuquerque, N.M. to play New Mexico (1-0).
