Covenant Health Recognizes Great American Smokeout

Posted: Updated:

Covenant Health will recognize the 37th Great American Smokeout on Thursday, November 15. This day is designated to encourage smokers to quit or make a plan to quit.

According to American Cancer Society, tobacco use is the number one cause of preventable death in the US and yet over 45 million Americans smoke cigarettes.

Covenant Health is doing their part to participate in the smokeout. On Thursday, November 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be tables in the lobbies of both Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Women's and Children's in which you can be entered in a drawing to win great prizes.  If you trade in your cigarettes at one of the booths and commit to stop smoking for that day, you will have a chance to win a coffee maker, a cappuccino maker and much more.

Quit kits will be handed out to all smokers that come by.  There will also be information and tips to help people quit smoking. Covenant Medical Center is located at 3615 19th Street and Covenant Women's and Children's is located at 4000 24th Street. For more information about this event call 806-725-8002.
