The Lubbock City Council is whole again, following the swearing in of its final member Wednesday.
Floyd Price took his oath of office in Council Chambers on Wednesday morning. He was elected June 26th, following a runoff election with 22-year incumbent T.J. Patterson.
"We are going to continue with the legacy he (T.J.) left and start this city coming together as one giant bodied city," said new District Two City Councilman, Floyd Price.
Patterson himself was on hand to say goodbye to his former constituents. Council members paid tribute to all his accomplishments in East Lubbock and presented the former councilman with a plaque. Patterson offered these words to his successor, "Enjoy people, turn to them, not over them, be like an eagle, set up yonder, people talk about you bad, but that's nothing but free publicity."
T.J. Patterson served on ten councils, under five mayors.
