Wife of veteran killed in train wreck airlifted to Lubbock hospital

Tiffanie Lubbers, one of the victims injured in Thursday's tragic train wreck in Midland, was airlifted to Lubbock Thursday night.  As of Saturday, she was in satisfactory condition at University Medical Center. 

Tiffanie Lubbers is the wife of Sergeant Major William L. Lubbers, one of the four victims who died.

Sergeant Major Lubbers served in the United States Army, serving 21 of his 24 years with Special Forces. He was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

According to his biography on the Show of Support, Hunt for Heroes web page, the couple is from Fayetteville, North Carolina and have been married for 19 years.

Tiffanie is an Independent Consultant for Nomads, a company that specializes in military duty station charms.

They have two children, Zachary, 18, and Sydney,11. Zachary began college at the University of North Carolina this fall. He is following his father's footsteps and is enrolled in ROTC. Sydney plays soccer and competes in academic competitions.

Sergeant Major Lubbers earned the Special Forces and Ranger Tabs, Master and Free Fall Parachutist badges.  He was awarded three Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart and other awards.
