Stripes campaign to help March of Dimes

Posted: Updated:

Beginning December 3, Stripes Convenience Stores will kick off its fifth annual March of Dimes cut-out campaign, encouraging its customers to make a small donation that will have a big impact. By donating at least $1 for a March of Dimes paper cut-out to hang in-store, people can help fund programs that allow moms to have healthy, full-term pregnancies and stronger, healthier babies.

"Now in our fifth year as a March of Dimes partner, we are really excited about our upcoming campaign," says Steve DeSutter, Stripes President and CEO. "We are proud to provide support that aids the communities we love so much. With the combined generosity of our customers and the hard work and dedication of our team members we are delighted that we can raise needed cash for March of Dimes' mission; critical programs in education, prenatal healthcare and health promoting activities for newborns."

In just 4 years, Stripes has raised $1.8 million dollars. This year, they look forward to passing the $2 million dollar mark and hope to raise $800,000.

"Stripes has been an amazing partner," says Darcie Wells, March of Dimes Texas Chapter State Director. "Stripes team members do everything with passion. This helpful attitude is reflected in every employee in all 550 of their stores. And it's this passion that will make a difference for moms and babies one dollar at a time."

One of the most urgent infant health problems in the U.S. today is premature birth. It affects nearly half a million babies each year. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.
