Select-A-Seat in the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center has begun handing out wristbands that will allow people buying Bon Jovi tickets at the Civic Center to be at the front of the line when they go on sale Friday.
But that doesn't mean those people will be getting their tickets first. Or at all.
All 8 Select-A-Seat locations in Lubbock will start selling tickets at 10 a.m. Friday and, according to box office manager Lisa Burn, the first person in line at a United Supermarket has the same chance at getting a ticket as the first person in line at the Civic Center with a wristband. All that the wristband does is give you a chance to be first at the Civic Center location and doesn't even guarantee you will get a ticket.
Presale tickets are available for those who have access. All Texas Tech students and staff, the Bon Jovi Fan Club and several media outlets have been allowed advanced purchase of the tickets.
Burn could not give an exact number of tickets that they have allocated for presale, but if ticket sales for the recent George Strait concert in Lubbock are any indication, then many people waiting in Select-A-Seat lines may be disappointed.
"Well, I think the demand will be very good for the show. I'm not sure if we'll get a sellout or not. Time will tell," said Burn.
The tickets are available Friday at 10 a.m. through all Select-a-Seat outlets, by phone at (806)-770-2000 or online at selectaseatlubbock.com.
If you are planning to buy your ticket at the Civic Center and want a wristband, they are available today through Thursday at 6 p.m. There is no limit on how many they can give away. If you are not in line by 9:30 am Friday with your wristband, you will lose your place in that line.
