University of South Carolina Gamecocks get Outback, Best Buy gift cards as Outback Bowl gifts

Outback-bound Gamecocks to enjoy gift cards, steaks

As the South Carolina Gamecocks get ready for the Outback Bowl in Tampa, they'll also be getting the chance to enjoy a few gifts courtesy of the New Year's Day bowl.

According to website Sports Business Daily, players participating in the bowl game will receive a $150 Best Buy gift card, a Fossil watch, ring, and cap, and, of course, an Outback Steakhouse gift card.

The gifts are just part of the bowl experience, and do not violate NCAA rules.

But what about those playing for the National Championship? Surely they must be getting more than just a juicy steak. Well, according to the website, players aren't just playing for that crystal football. The BCS National Championship gives players the opportunity to spend up to $550 in gifts of their own choosing.

Of course, a bowl win -- especially the crystal football -- is likely better than anything that can be bought.
