LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Three people are in the hospital after a violent overnight accident in central Lubbock.

The wreck happened around 12 a.m. Police say the driver of a white truck was headed east on Glenna Goodacre at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred.

"The truck struck the gray car and then struck a parked car, and pushed it approximately a block and it went up into a yard. Then eventually the truck struck a parked patrol car and pushed it into another parked car. That's where it finally came to a rest," Captain Roy Bassett said.

Police say the truck hit the first car hard enough to eject the front passenger Meagan Rough who was wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of that car, 19-year-old Kaitlyn Canaday was also taken to the hospital with injuries along with two others.

The driver of the truck - Jason Chad White, 19 - was arrested on 2 counts of intoxication assault.
