LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Just after 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night, DPS troopers were called to the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident near Highway 84 and County Road 7200.
According to DPS, 43-year old Dirk Zieher of Slaton was traveling east of HWY 84 when he lost control of his Honda Moped. Zieher crashed in a field and was pronounced dead at the scene.
John Gonzales with DPS says the maximum speed of the scooter was 45 MPH and he was traveling on a road with a speed limit of 70 MPH.
DPS Troopers are currently investigating this as a possible hit and run.
