DENVER CITY, TX (KCBD) -

The Yoakum County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the death of 46-year-old Kenneth Krauter after an altercation during which he was shot on Wednesday night.

The Sheriff's Office was called to the home of Joshua and Stephanie Bullock between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday. They would not tell us the cause of the altercation or how Krauter knew the Bullock family.

The Sheriff did confirm that they have suspects, but so far have made no arrests in the case.

Oscar, who didn't want us to release his last name, was shocked by what was happening.

"My friend texted me and called me and said, ‘God, Oscar where you at?' I said, ‘What?' and then I looked out there and saw what was going on and I knew exactly what was happening. I just thought it was minor domestic violence or something like that, then all the cops and everybody started showing up," he said.

He used to live next door to Kenneth and was sad to hear of his passing.

"Kenneth was all right, you know, he was an all right guy. From time to time he liked to raise a little cane and stuff like that. but you know he was just a regular good old boy."

Oscar also said he doesn't know exactly what happened, but said Josh Bullock isn't the type to shoot someone.

"Josh is a very well-educated man. He's very articulate. He doesn't speak ill of anybody and he's very mild mannered."
