Texas Tech Chancellor Dr. David Smith should know by Friday if he's a finalist for System President at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Smith was nominated for the position and confirmed that he has been interviewed. On Monday, he released a written statement saying, "It would be pure speculation to say I am interested in the position at this time, as I have stated I would need to know more about the role."
The Chancellor also said that it is not uncommon for a president or chancellor to be nominated for another academic or administrative position.
