TX State Comptroller Calls For Audit Of CHIP Program

The Texas Comptroller has called for a federal investigation into the state program that provides insurance to poor children.

Monday, Carole Keeton Strayhorn asked for the investigation into mishandled contracts in the CHIP Program. Last week, a state auditor's report cited $20 million in unnecessary payments to the company that oversees CHIP. The report also found serious deficiencies in CHIP's management.
