Sunday afternoon fire destroys Slaton barn

SLATON, TX (KCBD) -

Slaton fire officials responded to a barn fire around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, just off East County Road 7900, east of Highway 84.

Fortunately, no one was inside the barn at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The barn was apparently being used as a workshop. The barn is considered a total loss.

The Buffalo Springs Lake Fire Department assisted with water.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
