United still accepting donations for South Plains Food Bank

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

It's not too late to donate to the 30th Annual U Can Share Food Drive.

Although the South Plains Food Bank hasn't met their goal quite yet, many came forward this weekend to lend a helping hand.

The Boy Scouts went door to door on Saturday, collecting more than 60,000 pounds of food.

David Weaver, Executive Director of the South Plains Food Bank said, "I love being out there this time of year. I just love seeing all the tears and the people I see maybe once a year come out - they just make all the difference in the world for us."

If you'd like to donate, United is still accepting canned goods at their store locations.
