This year's tour features four homes plus the chapel:
Ray & Donna Vaden
One of the original homes in Ransom Canyon, the Vaden's roomy split-level is nestled in a small cove with a wonderful view of the lake from both inside and outside of the home. The downstairs has been totally redesigned and refurbished and the second floor has been freshly painted, tiled and carpeted. The exterior of the home had a recent face lift of stucco and stone façade, a new roof and new windows. This lakefront property home is the Vaden's dream come true and they open their doors this Christmas season to share the blessings!
Christmas around the world will delight your senses as you enter the Wood's earth sheltered home. This unique "house in the hillside" was built in 1982 as a project for Dr. Kiesling's
engineering class at Texas Tech University. Every room of this ecologically green home, except the breakfast area, is underground and thus maintains a steady temperature throughout the year. Avid world travelers, the Woods have fascinating collections throughout this one-of-a-kind home!
Richie & Pam Marshall:
A warm Victorian Christmas welcomes you to the Marshall's brand new Tuscan home. Gorgeous mahogany woodwork, an extensive wine collection, gleaming granite countertops and a fireplace in almost every room greets each visitor. You've got to see the library and the movie room! Step out onto the patio to behold the Canyon in all its Christmas glory!
Jack & Kala Shropshire
Jack and Kala Shropshire's spacious garden home is the picture of elegance for your holiday viewing. Designed by the couple, the open concept living area displays a warm and inviting, traditional décor that includes the large family Christmas tree. The roomy master suite occupies the entire upper level. Traditional red and green decorations flow throughout the house. The views of the lake and canyon rim are the perfect complement to this special home.
Ransom Canyon Memorial Chapel:
The Three Crosses of Calvary project will amaze you by its simple beauty. A live nativity symbolically gathers at the foot of the cross in the lower area. Up the pathway, the Chapel beckons all to its warmth and beauty. Inside, the inspiring 12 foot high walnut cross surrounded by natural stones looks out to the lovely courtyard. We welcome you in for hot apple cider, homemade cookies and Christmas music. A shuttle will be provided for transportation from the Chapel's parking lot to the Chapel.
