Consider This...Kingsbury already ahead

Posted: Updated:

Now that we have a football coach in place, there is no rest for the weary.

But Kliff Kingsbury may actually have a better shot at success than his predecessor or maybe even any of the other candidates for the job.

No, he doesn't have quite the resume as most would in this job.  And yes, he is young.

As a former Red Raider star with an obvious and genuine love for Lubbock and Texas Tech, not to mention a hugely positive reaction to his name, he has already accomplished something special. Kliff has done in one day what Tuberville couldn't do in two years. He has united the fan base. A least for now.

Consider this:

Kliff has lots of work to do. He has to get a good coaching staff in place, keep the recruits we have, and get new ones. Then it becomes real simple. He has to win.

He's off to a great start and I look forward to following his progress. Congratulations Coach Kingsbury. Welcome back to Lubbock, and we will see you on the field next fall.
