Pickup Truck Collides With City Truck

A City of Lubbock worker is recovering from injuries received in an overnight collision.

The accident happened about 4:20 Tuesday morning on the Slide overpass on South Loop 289. Police say the driver of a pickup ran into the back of a Vector Control Truck, which is sprays for mosquitoes. 22-year-old Michael Birken was cited for failing to control his speed.

55-year-old Bibiano Llanas Junior was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries.
