Veterans and servicemen were honored across all 50 states Saturday morning in the annual "Wreaths Across America" ceremony.
The tradition began in 1992 at Arlington National Cemetery.
The Civil Air Patrol held their ceremony at the Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial, where adults and children can learn about the sacrifices veterans and their families have made to preserve our freedom.
Lt. Col. Richard Kolas said, "If we don't remember those that have fought for us and honor them then a lot of it is lost and a lot of the honor is lost."
This is the fifth year Lubbock has participated in Wreaths Across America.
