LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

New information came out Friday about the Lubbock man who police believe killed his wife and set his home on fire.

Police responded to a call last Tuesday Morning on 58th and Avenue S,

Neighbors say they saw 35-year-old Abel Alonzo walking out of his burning home covered in blood and carrying a knife

But Alonzo isn't charged with the death of his wife, at least not yet.

Right now, he faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14.

According to the police report, Alonzo had been assaulting the child for more than 7 years.

The day of the fire he was scheduled to take a lie detector test on these charges.

As of Friday night, Alonzo remains in police custody at UMC.

Police are still investigating.
