If you've been dieting to look more like the skinny girls you see in fashion magazines, listen to this... lawmakers are trying to change that in Israel. A new law has come into effect in that country banning models who are too thin from appearing in advertisements. The law requires models to have a body mass index of at least 18.5, which is considered the minimum healthy weight. Lawmakers decided to take the action due to a rise in eating disorders in Israel, particularly among young girls. Others are taking note. Fashion shows in Milan, Italy, and Madrid, Spain, have are also started banning skinny models.
