Lubbock brides flock to 2013 Bridal Showcase

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Getting married is exciting, but stressful. This year's Bridal Showcase was meant to help ease some of those worries.

More than 120 vendors set up at the Civic Center Sunday afternoon to help brides narrow down their selections. Everything from the music and entertainment to the tuxedo - organizers say their ultimate goal is to help accommodate the brides getting ready for their special day.

Northcott puts her own twist on antique dresses. "I find unique antique dresses, they can date back to - my oldest one is 1900s probably - and I redesign them, reimagine them, reinvent them."

Brides were able to see their potential dresses on the runway during Sunday's fashion show.

But Sunday wasn't just about the brides. Salon owner Katherine Micheal Northcott said they also made arrangements for prospective husbands.

"We televise the playoff game," Northcott said. "We have food that is available for them and they can even grab a cold beverage if they'd like to and enjoy the game."
