Lubbock Grand Jury indicts suspects in high-profile cases

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock grand jury returned indictments in several high-profile cases today including two murders and a drunk-driving crash that took the life of a 19-year old Texas Tech student.

Danny Ray Martinez, 23 is indicted for murder following a deadly fight that happened December 15th at a home near 50th and Avenue W.

Police say an autopsy revealed Moreno suffered blunt-force trauma to the head.
Martinez is now formally charged with the beating death of Eddie Moreno, 34.

-----
Zacorey Price and Nathan Sproles, both 17, were also indicted for murder.
Investigators say Price, Sproles and a 15-year old juvenile killed Mark Morris, 34, on December 13th.

According to the arrest warrant, the teens attempted to break into Morris's home where police say one of the teens told him to get down on the ground and not move. One of the other teens shot him.

-----
The 2 men who police say hit another man in the back of the head with a hammer multiple times and then shot him, were also indicted today.

Kenneth Wall, 33 and Patrick Corbin, 31 have been formally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that caused bodily injuries.

Police found the victim, Austin Voss, in the back seat of Corbin's car at a 7-Eleven on December 29th.

-------
Jason Chad White, 19, was indicted for intoxication manslaughter following a violent wreck on Glenna Goodacre early last month. The wreck killed Texas Tech student Megan Rough.

White had 2 passengers in his truck and was heading east from University when he struck the back of a car that Rough was riding in. Police say the wreck had such a hard impact, Rough was thrown from the car even though she was wearing a seatbelt.

Police say White's blood-alcohol level was .20.
The legal limit is .08.

--------
Finally, the man who authorities say drove a florist delivery van into a wrecked car last September, Peter Keltz, 23, stands indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which in this case was the van.
His blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit at .305.

The van hit Officer Philip Standefer after he pushed a woman out of the vehicle's path.
