Using your smart phone to diagnose melanoma is not so smart according to a new study. Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh studied four app's designed to analyze pictures of suspicious skin marks and provide a diagnosis. They found three out of four of the app's incorrectly diagnosed a third of melanomas as "unconcerning." The researchers are worried users may rely on these tools rather than seek the advice of a dermatologist. This could lead to delayed treatment.
