Lady Raiders win in Austin over Texas

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

It's a rare occurrence for the Lady Raiders to win in Austin but Kristy Curry's squad did just that, knocking off the Lady Longhorns 66-59.

This is Tech's first win in Austin since 2006 and just their 7th in 36 all-time meetings.

Behind hot shooting from Casey Morris, who led Tech with 20 points, the Lady Raiders opened up an 8 point halftime lead. Chynna Brown scored 20 as the Lady Raiders withstood a late UT rally. The Lady Raiders hit some big free throws to leave the State Capital with a win.

The Lady Raiders move to 13-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12. Tech will host Kansas Saturday at 1 p.m.
