Great news in an annual report released today by the American Cancer Society. Fewer people are dying from cancer each year. The ACS report reveals the overall cancer death rate dropped 20-percent between 1991 and 2009. Deaths were down for all four major cancer sites - lung, colorectal, breast and prostate. Although the news is encouraging, these diseases were still responsible for almost half the cancer fatalities among men and women. Experts credit the decline in a reduction in smoking as well as better detection and treatment methods.
