LUBBOCK, Texas - For the first time in over a decade, the Texas Tech baseball recruiting class has received a top-25 ranking as Perfect Game tabbed the Red Raiders 2013-2014 recruits as the 24th best recruiting class in the country.
The last time a Tech recruiting class was ranked among the top 25 in the nation was in 2001 when the Red Raiders recruits for the following season was ranked No. 16 by Collegiate Baseball Magazine.
First-year head coach Tim Tadlock - who is known as one of the top recruiters in college baseball – along with assistant coach/recruiting coordinator J-Bob Thomas and pitching coach Ray Hayward put together Tech's early recruiting class which was announced on Nov. 21.
Tech's list of recruits includes 19 student-athletes who will join the Red Raiders in the fall.
Tech is one of five Big 12 programs to rank in the top 25, joining Oklahoma State (No. 17), TCU (No. 19), Oklahoma (No. 21) and ranking one spot ahead of Texas (No. 25). Total, six Big 12 programs appeared in Perfect Game's rankings as Baylor was the last team in the rankings at No. 50.
