Most of us dread house work, but imagine if you're fighting cancer. Keeping a clean house may be next to impossible, and that's why a non-profit cleaning service is gaining popularity and appreciation.
Heather Russo is part of a national non-profit called "Cleaning for a Reason" that partners local cleaning companies with women fighting cancer.
"I want to make a difference in a woman's life that's battling and not have to worry about cleaning her home," said Russo. "They get one cleaning per month up to four months and then once that commitment is completed, I mark it as checked. And they send me new clients, and I will be able to go clean for more women who have cancer."
So far this year, "Cleaning for a Reason" has helped provide more than three million dollars in services for women with cancer across the United States and Canada. If you know of a cleaning service or non-profit here that is linked to Cleaning for a Reason, let us know. It's a great idea, and we'll pass that along.
