LORENZO, TX (KCBD) -
Lorenzo ISD officials have confirmed the district was placed on lockdown toward the end of the school day on Monday.
Around 2:15 p.m. a domestic dispute spilled over outside of one of it's campuses.
School officials issued a low-level lockdown to keep kids safely in the building while police handled the situation.
Superintendent Dr. Jerrod Pickering says the lockdown was a safety precaution.
"At no point was any student in danger, but we wanted to make sure of that, and make sure that we keep our kids safe," Pickering said.
Students were dismissed at the regular time.
Pickering was able to confirm that one of the family members involved in the dispute is linked to the school district.
The Crosby County Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation.
