LPD Begins Recruiting for 2005 Police Academy

The Lubbock Police Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming 2005 Police Academy.

The application process opened July 19, 2004 and will close on Friday, September 24, 2004 at 5:00pm. This application process is for an academy that is proposed to begin in the latter part of January or early part of February of 2005.

Applications are available at the following locations:

  • The Human Resources Department
    1625 13th Street
    Room 104
    Lubbock
    Monday thru Friday
    8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • The front desk of the Lubbock Police Department
    916 Texas Avenue
    Lubbock
  • You can also contact Corporal James Altgelt / Police Recruiter at (806) 775-2965 to make arrangements to obtain an application.
  • Online at http://police.ci.lubbock.tx.us/, go to the Recruiting Page. Approximately half way down the page, you will see a red in color link, which states, "Click Here for On-line Job Application". Click on this link. This will take you to the City of Lubbock On-line Job Application page. You will see two more links. Click on the link that states, "Begin the Police Application Process". This is a very short application process and should only take a few minutes to complete.

Completed applications may be returned to Human Resources Department or mailed to:

All completed applications for this examination must be received at the Human Resources Office by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2004.

The Entrance Examination will be administered on Saturday, October 2, 2004 , at the Lubbock Police Academy, which is located at 508 Davis Drive, Reese Technology Center in Lubbock at 8 a.m.
