Lady Raiders win on the road against W. Virginia

Lady Raiders make good first impression vs. West Virginia tonight.

This was the first ever match up between the two and the Lady Raiders showed up the Lady Mountaineers 77-73 in overtime Tuesday night.

Tech trailed by 11 in the first half and 9 at the half but fought back several times. The Lady Raiders were down by 2 with time running out when Shauntal Nobles came in strong and tied the game with seconds left, forcing overtime.

In the extra 5 minutes, Christine Hyde, who led Tech's scoring with 19 points made a layup to put the Lady Raiders ahead by 3 and they held on for their 3rd Big 12 road win.

Monique Smalls had 17 points, including some late key free throws and Chynna Brown had 16 as the Lady Raiders move to 15-4 overall and 5-2 in the Big 12.

Tech will host TCU this Sunday at Noon at the United Spirit Arena.
