Harlem Globetrotters return to Lubbock Feb. 1

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their new 2013 "You Write the Rules" show to Lubbock on Feb. 1 at the Rip Griffin Center.

For the first time ever fans will determine the rules of the game by voting online at wwww.harlemglobetrotters.com/rule.   Fans can choose to see anything from the team playing with two balls, double points per basket or any other zany new rules.

The Globetrotters are also on a tour-long campaign to promote breast cancer awareness by playing parts of games with pink Globetrotter basketballs as well as donating proceeds from in game sales of pink wrist bands.

On Thursday, Jan. 24 Harlem Globetrotter Slick Willie Shaw will be live in the KCBD NewsChannel 11 studio with Christy Hartin during KCBD @ 4 to talk about the Globetrotters new 2013 "You Write the Rules" World Tour and more. He will also be presenting the Globetrotters new community outreach program, "The ABCs of Bullying Prevention," to elementary students while in Lubbock.

Sustained winds at 20-30 mph, warm temperatures and low relative humidity values will create an elevated to critical fire weather risk for our area. A cold front will move through our area late tonight, shifting winds out of the north. Monday morning will be cool and breezy.
