Source: Lubbock Co. Sheriff Police say Martin Lujan and his girlfriend Yvette Ruiz were arguing early Wednesday morning when he left her apartment in the 6500 blockof Temple Avenue and tried to drive away. That's when Lujan says Ruiz threw herself in front of his truck and injured her head. When Lujan got out to check on her, Ruiz's son hit him. However, witnesses say they saw Lujan swerve toward Ruiz, causing her to fall and hit her head.
Lujan was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Ruiz was taken to University Medical Center where she's currently in serious condition.
