Tech accepting applications for United Supermarkets scholarship

From United Supermarkets:

Applications are now being accepted for scholarship awards for the 2013-2014 academic year from the United Supermarkets Fellowship Endowment at Texas Tech University, which was established last year.

The endowment is available for new and continuing graduate students pursuing any area of study at Texas Tech. Initially, awards will be for one academic year, beginning this fall, and students may re-apply at the end of the award period. The award amount is disbursed evenly for the fall and spring semesters.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 15. All scholarship and fellowship applications must be submitted through Texas Tech's online system. Applicants will be notified of award decisions approximately eight weeks after the deadline.

The endowment is a result of a $3 million gift from United Supermarkets, LLC to the Texas Tech Foundation last year to endow two scholarship programs at the university and provide operational support for nursing programs at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.

Eligible graduate students include on-campus and distance education students pursing any master's or doctoral program, teacher certification program (CERT/FCSC), graduate certification program (GCERT) or joint degree program (for the joint degree, the scholarship will be applied only while taking Texas Tech courses).

Students pursuing a non-degree such as post-graduate (PGRD), Graduate Temporary (GTMP), Continuing Professional Education Development (CPED) or students pursuing a degree at the Tech Law School or Health Sciences Center are not eligible to apply.
