Pedestrian hit on Clovis Road in critical condition

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Police responded to a car accident involving a pedestrian on the 2100 block of Clovis Rd. Monday morning. 

Around 2:08 a.m., William David Townsley, 58, was driving eastbound on Clovis Rd. in the right lane. 22-year-old Johnny Guerrero, III was walking in the roadway when Townsley's car hit him. 

Guerrero suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to UMC. He is in critical condition.

Police suspect alcohol or drugs may have been a factor in this accident.
