This week's Pay It Forward segment started out along the Clovis Highway in Northwest Lubbock. Our playmaker shows up pretty quickly.
Veronica C Garza spots our sign and knows exactly who she wants to help out. Veronica has chosen Lolly Mendoza as this week's recipient of Pay It Forward.
Veronica explains that Lolly has fallen on hard times and has gone through periods of time without power or gas service. Veronica adds that we will be taking a road trip to Hale Center to surprise our recipient.
We hit the highway and end up in Hale Center where we hand $300 to Veronica. We walk up to Lolly's front door and Veronica counts out $300 to assist Lolly.
Lolly was completely surprised and broke down when she received the cash. She told us the money came at a good time. She will use the money to pay bills.
