Congress Sets Aside Funding for Texas Tech

Congress is including Texas Tech in its Defense Appropriations Bill.

The bill includes $2 million for the Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt, Jr. National Program for counter-measures to biological and chemical threats, $1 million for the Texas Tech Institute of Environmental and Human Health, and $1 million for the Compact Pulsed Power for Defense Applications and Homeland Security.

All three programs are part of Texas Tech's effort to research biological and chemical terrorism.
