Black History Month begins with banquet at Texas Tech

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

February is Black History Month - when we take time to remember the historical contributions made by African Americans.

Here in Lubbock, the Texas Tech Black Faculty and Staff Association will honor the month with an opening banquet.

Proceeds from the banquet will benefit the BFSA scholarship fund and the National Block Club University - an organization dedicated to stopping violence in high-crime neighborhoods around the country.

The banquet begins at 6 p.m. Saturday in the forum of the School of Law building at Tech.

Tickets cost $6 for students and $12 for everyone else.
