Lady Raiders think pink topping West Virginia

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Lady Raiders were pretty in pink topping West Virginia 76-63 Wednesday night at the United Spirit Arena.  

Tech wore special pink uniforms in its annual Play4Kay game to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and to help create awareness for breast cancer research around the country. With the win, the Lady Raiders are now 3-0 wearing pink, including beating #1 Baylor in 2011.

Tech made 36 free throws in the game and only 18 field goals. Casey Morris led 4 Lady Raiders in double figures with 20. Chynna Brown chipped in 17 and Monique Smalls and Kelsi Baker added 13 each.

The Lady Raiders were without Senior Christine Hyde. She was suspended from the game for violating team rules.

Tech moves to 17-6 overall and 7-4 in the Big 12. Next they visit TCU Saturday at 7pm.
