From now until mid-March we all have a special opportunity to learn something valuable, pay tribute to a couple of local heroes, and show our children first hand something not easily explained.
Right now, the Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock is hosting an exhibit honoring Columbia Shuttle Commander Rick Husband and Pilot Willie McCool. It is filled with information about the life and legacy of the two astronauts and the space program.
This tribute commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Columbia disaster is open now until March 17th.
I'd encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity and take your children. It's more than just a history lesson, it's a lesson in honor, respect, and the true meaning of legacy.
