Monroe boys wrap up season undefeated in the region

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

The Monroe boys basketball team knew the dangers Worth Co. posed especially after the Tornados were upset by Terrell Co. last week.  The Rams made things interesting but Monroe ended up with a 51-47 win to finish the regular season 13-0 in region 1-AAAA.  The Tornados will be the number one seed in the region tournament next week.  The Lady Tornados will also be the number seed in the region tournament after a rout over Worth Co. 79-30.

Also, on Saturday the Tift Co. boys blew out Valdosta in Winnersville 70-42.  The Valdosta girls topped Tift Co. 56-42. 

In addition on Saturday, the Byne Christian boys out of Albany beating Open Bible out of Valdosta 59-46 to win the Georgia Christian Athletic Association Championship.
