Dashboard Camera Shows Lightning Bolt

Video of the lightning bolt that struck two New Mexico police officers has been released.

Officers Lance Bateman and Clint Varnell were rescuing a woman and three small children from a vehicle caught in a flash flood when they were hit near Portales. The dashboard camera in one of their cars captured the bolt.

Officer Bateman says, "All I remember is a sharp pain in my head." Both officers worked another two hours before being treated at a Lubbock hospital.
