Lubbock Companies Celebrate Grand Openings

Drive through South Lubbock and you'll see new businesses open or under construction. Now there is growth on the East side as well.

Williams Chicken celebrated its grand opening Friday. Gene Whitten and his wife Dr. Gladys Whitten opened the franchise to boost economic development in East Lubbock. The restaurant is located at 3017 Idalou Highway.

There is a new option of convenience in South Lubbock. Walgreen's opened a new store at 5115 98th street. It's one of 425 Walgreen's stores opening nationwide this year.
