LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two men were arrested and charged with robbery Thursday morning after an overnight carjacking in the Overton neighborhood near Texas Tech.

According to police, Texas Tech student Brittani Robas, 20, was exiting her vehicle in the parking lot of the University Fountain Apartments at 2202 Mac Davis Lane when she was approached by Joshua Martinez, 20, and a 16-year-old male.

Police say one of the young men struck Robas in the face and then both suspects drove away in her vehicle. Robas sustained minor injuries and was transported UMC.

Approximately 30 minutes later, patrol officers located the vehicle in the area of 31st and Ave Q.  Police say the driver refused to stop and police chased the vehicle for approximately four minutes before the driver wrecked at 1st and University Avenue.

Both suspects were taken into custody and charged with robbery.
