We think of heart disease as a problem we develop as we age, but congenital heart disease is considered the most common birth defect.  It affects about 40,000 babies every year. This is Congenital Heart Disease Awareness week. Our guest is Dr. Vasum Peiris, a pediatric and adult cardiologist at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.
